  1. aside from the fact that they are a complete Tool wannabe....you basically just described tool, in essence, except much too simplistic.

  2. I really don't think Cire are ripping off Maynard's vocal style, they just have very similar singing voices. Maynard uses a wide variety of styles anyway, like in Ticks & Leeches, the screams that put his voice out for 6 weeks. Then you have the soft voice on Wings for Marie etc, and the harsh vocal style of Undertow. I might be wrong, but I honestly think Cire aren't trying to rip off his vocal style.

  3. You sound like the biggest douche. Honestly, I hate to be an asshole, but seriously man.

  4. Cire is unlike anything out there.
lyrically advanced beyond anything on the radio. a tragically beautiful multiverse of sound & meaning & one of my favorite well springs to quench my thirst from.

  5. Anyway, it's more of a general feeling - whenever I Iisten to Metal radio or hear what other people are listening to (I'm from the UK as well :) that I hear the Tool influence - just in little snippets, you know? Like you still get with The Beatles even now. But it's not such a bad thing, like I said; Chevelle are a BIG guilty pleasure of mine because they're a really good Tool copy-cat band.

  6. Okay I'm going to tread carefully because there are bands that have been influenced by Tool in a GOOD way - like ISIS (from their Panopticon album onwards) and even Deftones on their later work. But then there's another class copy-cat bands like Chevelle and Earshot. Having said that, I actually quite like Chevelle (particularly their 'Vena Sera' album), but more than anything, I think a lot of bands rip-off Maynard's vocal style and Adam's guitar - like (in my opinion) Cire.

  7. UK is too unsophisticated to embrace the likes of Tool. I would love the chance to get "a little tired of hearing the Tool influence" Cire sound pretty good to me. Are they just one of so many eggs in a box? Which bands are you referring to? Educate me, please.

  9. I like it, I do. But I have to say that I'm getting a little tired of hearing the Tool influence pretty much everywhere nowadays. Too many sheep, not enough shepards.
